The Child
The child’s jacket has been fitted with new zippers, and around the pocket, we’ve pressed on a stylish gold-glitter frame that also reinforces the area. The hood has been updated with new Velcro.
The jeans have been repaired using a Japanese stitching technique called Sashiko. The shoes were first washed to restore the shine to all the white details. Then, new soles, a new heel strap, and new Velcro were installed. To top it off, we applied fresh black dye to the leather and added a pair of new yellow shoelaces.
The Woman
The female mannequin has a knitted sweater where we have repaired a hole using matching yarn and technique.
Her Chelsea boots have been re-heeled. A heel replacement is often a smart and cost-effective option when the heel has worn down.The female mannequin has a knitted sweater where we have repaired a hole using matching yarn and technique.
On the back, you can see additional variations of repairs on a knitted sweater. There is also a shirt where the elbows have been reinforced with patches. This is a smart solution for work shirts or for those with sharp elbows. The patches can be discreet or, as shown here, visible, turning them into a stylish detail.
The Man
On the male mannequin, we have installed a new zipper on the vest. We use YKK zippers, known for their high and consistent quality.
The image also shows an almost hidden repair on the shirt, where we've used a piece of original fabric to patch a hole.
Below is a detail of the Peak Performance vest. Two of the down panels have torn. One has been repaired with yellow fabric to highlight the repair technique. For Peak Performance garments, we have a great ability to repair with original materials, which in many cases is a cost-effective alternative to buying new.
Zippers wear out, but in most cases, they can be replaced. Sometimes it's enough to just replace the slider, but often we need to replace the entire zipper. Here you can see a pocket zipper on a pair of functional pants.
